Steps

1. 1Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Reputable Merchant.
2. 2When Reputable Merchant dies, its innate ability and persist ability trigger.
3. 3Resolve the Reputable Merchant trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control.
4. 4Resolve the persist trigger, returning Reputable Merchant from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. 5When Reputable Merchant enters, it triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. 6Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
7. 7Repeat.
