How it works
Prerequisites
- At least one of the two persist creatures does not have a -1/-1 counter on it.
- 2x Persist Creature
Steps
- Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing a persist creature that does not have a -1/-1 counter on it.
- When the creature dies, its persist ability and Bhaal trigger.
- Resolve the Bhaal trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on the remaining persist creature.
- Resolve the sacrificed creature's persist trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
- Repeat.
