Steps

1. 1Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Lingering Tormentor.
2. 2When Lingering Tormentor dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. 3Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
4. 4Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Lingering Tormentor.
5. 5When Lingering Tormentor dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. 6Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
7. 7Repeat.
