Prerequisites

• You have gained at least 1 life this turn.
• You have a way to gain any amount of life.

Steps

1. 1Cast Sculpting Steel by paying , causing it to enter the battlefield as a copy of Ratchet, Rescue Racer.
2. 2Put Ratchet into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
3. 3Choose to return Ratchet to the command zone from your graveyard.
4. 4Sculpting Steel triggers, failing to convert it.
5. 5Cast Ratchet from the command zone as Ratchet, Field Medic by paying plus commander tax, if applicable.
6. 6Gain any amount of life.
7. 7Ratchet, Field Medic triggers, converting itself.
8. 8Put Ratchet into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
9. 9Choose not to return Ratchet to the command zone from your graveyard.
10. 10Ratchet, Field Medic and Ashes of the Abhorrent trigger.
11. 11Resolve the Ratchet, Field Medic trigger, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield.
12. 12Resolve the Ashes of the Abhorrent trigger, causing you to gain 1 life.
13. 13Repeat from step 7.
