How it works
Prerequisites
- You have cast your commander from the command zone enough times to cast the creature with MV>=4 for its blitz cost by paying at most .
- Creature with MV>=4 that has a generic mana cost
Steps
- Cast the creature with MV>=4 for its blitz cost by paying .
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the creature.
- When the creature dies, it and Mortuary trigger.
- Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting it from your graveyard on top of your library.
- Resolve the creature's trigger, causing you to draw it from the top of your library.
- Resolve the Ashnod's Altar ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
- Repeat.
